It shot me up to the top of the search engines for a relatively big one word keyword within a year of creating one site. Not to mention plenty of other good results with other related terms about the category it is in.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;But I have several other plain HTML informational sites that have been in the top three with Google and the others for years that haven't changed a lick in four or five years.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Those sites relate to gardening, and the information itself doesn't really change. You can't really do better than number one, and that's where several of those sites have been consistently sitting for years.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So I guess my response would be yes, that strategy works perfectly, except for when it doesn't.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The thing that my sites with opposite strategies have in common is useful, well-written information.
