But AdWords seems like it sticks out a bit from that list. Maybe I'm just biased because of my own (positive) experiences with it.

Re: Friday roundup of stuff

Thanks for the heads up. Title is not as important as content. Thanks for the link too! :)

Re: Friday roundup of stuff

I wonder if using these online tools (that I'm not supposed to use) will help my local CPA consulting practice?

Will someone (anywhere in the US) hire a CPA from SC to do high-end professional services consulting, QB tech support or tax-related prep and planning? I'm curious.

Thanks, Jason M. Blumer, CPA

Re: Friday roundup of stuff

Note to all my competitors - please read and abide by Mr. Marks' column. I built a blog in about 30 minutes and spend about that much each week adding some content. Very, very intense stuff that average business owner can't handle :)

Re: Friday roundup of stuff

John,

No worries - but no ambivalence intended either - I know what value these have, but I get a little tired convincing people - so what I suggested in my post was - join and figure it out - by the way, join so you can watch what I do, that was the point of the post. I think the real value from some of these sites is that they have no value until you build a community and work it. My communities in many of the sites I listed grew substantially from that post - does it start to make a little sense in that light?

Re: Friday roundup of stuff

Hey, you have a Friday Roundup too. (You probably have had one longer than me). Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you didn't find my link in too critical or glib. I didn't mean it to be. I just thought I detected a note of Web 2.0 ambivalence there, and I certainly share it.

Re: Friday roundup of stuff

I love that article, since I am successfully using most of those things that we small business owners aren't supposed to use. Video, Adwords, Blogging, RSS, and more.

I hope they run that article everywhere and everyone believes it, so that all of my competitors give up and don't even try!
