Thanks, this is very useful. Local and regionalized web results are a step toward a more defined web strategy for small businesses.

Great idea but it only works for the USA at the moment.

Hi, this is Patrick Sexton from GetListed.org, and I wanted to thank you for highlighting this tool, we have worked for months to get it going and we really appreciate the mention.

@Paul Simister - Yes, it currently only works in USA but there are UK, Canada, and Australia versions coming up in a few weeks.

I explored this site over the weekend. Great resource. Easy to use and some very helpful information on local search. I think I noticed an improvement already with my local SEO ranks with Google! Great tool. Thanks for sharing.

This site doesn't recognize my Google and MSN listings. Any ideas on why this is the case?

I wasn't aware of this information. I am going to try it now! Thank you.

I recognized the value during some web analysis for a client where I found the acknowledgement of competitors' listing.

I was impressed with getListed.org at first as well, until I did some testing and saw it had a while to go. Try testing it with "Red Trolley" in "80211". It will tell you that it is not listed in Google. Now go to Google to look for the same business and see it in Google Maps.

I am excited about getListed.org evolving. It is so important that businesses know where they are listed and what the information is in each resource.

It is also key to know where you can list locally online, and how important the engine or directory is in the local "scene".

There is a great resource listing and ranking all the local engines and directories at www.emarketingmatador.com/step-2-local-search-d.... I made this for my clients and share it on my blog now.
