Any conclusions on use of Sez Who?

I've noticed that very few people vote up comments. Seems like not many people are tapping into this feature of Sez Who.

But, it is nice to see where and what someone has commented previously.

I'll have to check out IntenseDebate.

For easy, cut-and-paste widgets that include comments, ratings, scores and top-rated content, check out js-kit.com. TechCrunch called it "easy peasy". :)

Yvonne - this won't be the most technical definition but basically a plug-in is something provides function and the widget is more often about how that function is displayed. So, you can have plug-ins that use widget technology and some that don't.

WP has enabled widgets as a way to drag an drop a certain plug-ins function onto your theme without any coding. (Of course there are other widgets out there that would allow you paste something to you theme from another site too.)

Back to the plug-in SezWho is a plug in that make display without a widget because I already have comment display all set-up

The recent post plug in in the left side bar is a plugin that displays using the widget drag an drop readiness of my theme.

John, have a look at IntenseDebate. I did a comparison of both SezWho and them on my personal blog an ended up using IntenseDebate. The two things that swayed me were the reputation system, where people can, a la digg, vote other comments up or down and the RSS feeds for other users to subscribe to comments. Note - i am in no way affiliated with the product - just a very happy user!

This seems line a great plug-in, John. When you say plug-in... does that mean it doesn't work like a widget? (my tech ability is limited, as you can tell) If it doesn't work like a widget, will it work on a typepad blog, too?

SezWho is a really great concept for a plug-in. It's hard to really identify who a commenter is and where their biases might be just from a website link they leave--and sometimes they don't even leave one.

I'll definitely try it out here, and I might even have to take your lead and add it to my own blog.
