*that* is such a great idea!

This is a great start to a useful list for retailers. I'm always surprised that more retailers don't levearge loyalty programs. It's a great tool for small business owners.

    John,
Last night, I was re-reading Dartnell's Direct Mail book, circa 1979.

Inside, there was a list of at least 100 promotions / direct marketing techniques for retail businesses.

Some might be outdated, but could be updated simply by switching tactics or markets.

It goes to show that everything old can be new again.

and... BIG IDEA HERE>>> since now I know that my CPA services like Tax Returns are ok to give to Newlyweds - I'm going to encourage my wife to give my gift certificates to her friends at their baby showers too... :)

This is a great list of things a retailer can do. But most importantly they need to constantly be reviewing their product offer to meet and go beyond the expectations of their customers.
Retailers that ignore this can become stale and uninteresting and cutomers will respond by shopping elsewhere.
